Purpose

Development of an interactive multi-user experience for the third edition of Metacardio, aimed at attendees of the event organised by Daiichi Sankyo Spain. In this edition, the goal is to create an immersive medical environment based on a clinical case provided by the client.

Client

Daiichi-Sankyo is the leading pharmaceutical company in Japan and one of the top twenty globally. With a work philosophy centred on excellence, Daiichi-Sankyo provides patients with high-quality products for the treatment of hypertension, acute coronary syndrome, osteoporosis, and cholesterol. Additionally, the company invests above the industry average in R&D, aiming to find therapeutic solutions for widespread diseases such as cardiovascular issues and cancer.

An innovative multi-user Virtual Reality experience was developed for the third edition of Metacardio in Segovia, the medical innovation event organized by Daiichi Sankyo Spain. This immersive experience, inspired by the escape room concept, allowed attendees to engage with a clinical case within a virtual environment, created with physical localization technology.

The simulation was designed for groups of 2 to 5 participants, who had to solve interactive trials in different rooms to complete the challenge in the shortest possible time.

Phases of the experience:

· Introduction: Participants will be introduced to the virtual environment and controls.
· First Room: assessment of the patient’s condition through interactive questions.
· Second Room: advanced analysis with a 3D replica of the Philips Azurion machine.
· Third Room: use of medical tools for patient treatment.
· Final Room: set in the DoctopediaXR virtual campus space, where participants receive the team photo and the time taken to complete the case.

Each phase is meticulously designed to offer a seamless and immersive experience that combines hands-on interaction with teamwork, enhancing the retention of information and soft skills.

To ensure realism and immersion, the project included:

Four virtual rooms with custom designs.

3D models of medical equipment and visual references to Daiichi Sankyo.

An interactive patient avatar, developed exclusively for this experience with motion capture technology.

The clinical case in LBE was one of the most highly rated activities at Metacardio 2025. The response was very positive, as its dynamic and participatory format encouraged interaction among attendees and created truly special moments. Thanks to this initiative, Daiichi Sankyo Spain has provided an innovative and engaging experience to the participants of Metacardio 2025.
