II Asturias Science & Innovation Fair

This year, Oviedo hosted the second edition of the Asturias Science and Innovation Fair at the Fábrica de Armas de la Vega. The event brought together the best scientific and technical innovations and research in the Principado de Asturias, presented by research groups, companies, start-ups and other Asturian entities. It was a meeting point for institutions, R+D (Research and development) and innovation centres, companies and educational centres to promote scientific vocations and innovative entrepreneurship. Additionally, there were activities for the whole family, including robotics workshops, artificial intelligence and lectures on scientific myths.

Some of the main objectives:

• • • Present singular initiatives in R&D and innovation in Asturias and dissemination of good practices.
    • To highlight Science and Innovation in educational institutions and to connect them to the Asturian Science and Technology ecosystem.
    • To help students to understand research and critically evaluate science and technology, promoting respect for the environment.

Another year of participation in the II Asturias Science and Innovation Fair was once again very satisfactory. In the first hour of the morning, a number of interested students visited our stand to see what Virtual Reality has to offer. For some, it was their first experience with this innovative technology. We set up a simple VR mini game where you had to climb a DNA and get the highest score, so it was a competition between groups of people. It was inspiring to see so many people interested in the capabilities of innovative technologies.

Thanks to this initiative, a safe and inspiring environment has been offered for professionals and enthusiasts of Science and Innovation, fostering the exchange of ideas and mutual growth. Additionally, it facilitated connections among pioneers in various fields, strengthening support networks and creating opportunities for innovative projects that can drive scientific and technological advancement.
