FIDMA 2026: Immersive Experiences to Connect with Audiences

FIDMA is a space where technology, culture, industry and tourism come together every year. In its 69th edition, FIDMA 2026 once again brought together companies and institutions from different sectors in Gijón, and Immersive Oasis collaborated with several organisations to incorporate immersive experiences into their stands. Each with a different purpose, but with the same goal: to offer people an innovative way to discover, understand and connect with stories through immersive technology.

A 360° experience to discover the ITV from the inside.

For ITV Asturias, we developed a 360° virtual reality experience that allows visitors to step into the shoes of an inspection technician.

From a first-person perspective, users can follow the different stages of a vehicle inspection and gain a better understanding of how the process works. The 360° format provides a different perspective and transforms a technical process into a more accessible, visual and interactive experience. In this way, the technology helps ITV Asturias explain the inspection process while offering a different perspective on the work behind every vehicle inspection.

An immersive Asturias experience with COIIAS

As part of the “Asturias Inmersiva” programme, promoted by COIIAS, visitors were able to enjoy an immersive photographic experience designed to surprise, encourage interaction and create a memorable memory of their time at the fair.

The experience combines technology and entertainment to create a memorable moment, allowing attendees to take home a souvenir of their visit to the fair and also enter a prize draw.

Travelling to the solar eclipse from Aller

Together with Aller Town Council, we created an immersive experience centred around one of the major astronomical events of 2026: the total solar eclipse on August 12.

Located in the heart of the Cantabrian Mountains, Aller is known for its natural and mountain heritage. The quality of its night skies and its different locations for astronomical observation are helping to position the municipality as an emerging astrotourism destination.

In this context, the aim of the initiative presented at FIDMA was to showcase this potential and generate interest in Aller as a destination for experiencing the solar eclipse. The experience allows visitors to witness a simulation of the phenomenon and discover Coto Bello, a location of great value for astronomical observation.

In this way, the experience brings the astronomical phenomenon closer to the FIDMA audience while also helping to showcase Aller, its natural surroundings and its potential as an astrotourism destination.

When information becomes an experience

From understanding a technical process to discovering new possibilities for Asturias or getting closer to a unique astronomical event, these three projects show how XR technology can transform the way we tell stories.

At Immersive Oasis, we believe immersive technology has the greatest impact when it serves a clear purpose: making stories easier to experience, understand and remember.

Thank you to Inspección Técnica de Vehículos de Asturias S.A., Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros Industriales del Principado de Asturias and Aller Town Council for trusting us to bring these experiences to life.
