The Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC) is a scientific organisation dedicated to increasing knowledge of the heart and the circulatory system. In addition, the SEC is committed to advancing the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in order to enhance patients’ quality of life. The SEC24 Congress, held in the city of Bilbao from 24 to 26 October, addresses cardiovascular health through a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach. Specialists from various fields (cardiology, family medicine, nursing, research, etc.) have shared advances and innovations in the field of cardiology.
In the context of this year’s SEC, we have joined forces with the Daiichi Sankyo Spain team to develop a unique, immersive virtual experience designed exclusively for attendees. This initiative combines technological innovation with the presentation of a pharmaceutical product.
The Virtual Reality experience for SEC24 offers attendees an innovative and educational immersion. This approximately 10-minute activity is a single-user experience, allowing each participant to proceed at their own pace.
Upon starting, the user enters an introductory room where they are guided on how to interact with the virtual environment, allowing them to familiarise themselves with the minimum necessary controls. This is followed by an immersive 360º video that highlights Daiichi-Sankyo’s values and commitment to sustainability and how these principles are integrated into its mission.
From this point, the core of the interactive experience unfolds: participants answer short cardiology-related questions, progressing step by step as they complete each quiz. With each correct answer, the user unlocks pieces of a puzzle that allow them to move forward in this immersive experience, keeping them engaged and motivated.
Throughout the congress, some attendees had the opportunity to try out an exclusive demo version of DoctopediaXR. This revolutionary medical training platform uses Extended Reality (XR) to complement hands-on learning. Developed in collaboration with Daiichi-Sankyo and several healthcare institutions, DoctopediaXR offers an innovative and dynamic approach. It allows doctors and healthcare professionals to access advanced training content in an immersive and collaborative digital environment.
The general feedback was very positive. The vast majority of participants felt very comfortable interacting with this technology and enjoyed this innovative way of accessing knowledge. Once again, we have confirmed that our immersive solutions capture the attention of the audience and provide a transformative view of the tools that are contributing to the future of healthcare.
A number of recently launched Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise devices have also been used to deliver an optimal user experience. These devices incorporate performance enhancements that ensure a smoother, high-quality experience in Extended Reality environments.
