Lena in 360º: nature and adventure

Tourism · Virtual Reality · 360º

Purpose

The City Hall of Lena aims to boost its tourist appeal by highlighting its diverse range of activities. With picturesque landscapes and the iconic ascent of "Alto de La Cubilla," Lena is an ideal destination for all types of visitors.

Client

The City Hall of Lena, in Asturias, manages a municipality ideal for nature and cultural tourism. With charming villages, hiking routes like the "Vía Carisa", and proximity to the "Valgrande-Pajares" ski resort, it is a perfect destination for mountain lovers. Additionally, it preserves a rich heritage, such as the pre-Romanesque church of "Santa Cristina de Lena".

The project consists of creating a 360º video, specifically designed for viewing on Virtual Reality devices, allowing the viewer to experience the essence of the municipality of Lena. Immersive technology has been used to capture the natural and cultural landscapes that distinguish Lena as an outstanding destination for nature and cultural tourism.

During the filming process, the most prominent natural spaces were explored and recorded, including the impressive cyclist ascent of “Alto de La Cubilla.” In some cases, drone footage was required to capture views that were inaccessible with ground cameras. This technological solution allows users to explore the destination from various perspectives, offering an immersive experience that highlights the attractions of Lena and promotes accessible tourism.

The initiative was presented at an event organized by the City Hall, where both local residents and visitors had the opportunity to witness a live presentation of the cultural and natural value of the region. The combination of immersive videos demonstrates the potential of virtual reality to promote tourist destinations in an accessible and impactful way.
