67th FIDMA 2024: Innovating Tradition

For this year’s 67th International Trade Fair of Asturias (FIDMA), we have prepared special experiences for the exhibitors’ stands.

FIDMA is a major annual event held at the Luis Adaro Exhibition Centre in Gijón. Since its first edition in 1924, it has become a benchmark for the presentation of products, services, tourism and trade, attracting more than 740,000 visitors, according to the Spanish Association of Trade Fairs (AFE). It provides an excellent opportunity for companies, institutions and entrepreneurs to present the current landscape of industry and services in Asturias.

Discovering Aller in 360º: an immersive experience

Using our immersive production technologies, the Aller Council stand amazed visitors with 360º recordings that captured the natural beauty of the area. At the stand, visitors enjoyed a Virtual Reality video showcasing some of the Aller region’s main tourist attractions: picturesque landscapes, snow capped mountains, charming hiking trails and much more.

What better way to showcase the area’s tourist treasures than through an immersive, emotionally charged experience? Whether for first-time visitors or those already familiar with the landscapes, it was a truly surprising experience. Drone footage revealed some previously unseen views, showing the region

Mixed Reality Experience: virtual cider pouring

After the success of 2023, “Sidrómetro” returns to the Oviedo City Council stand. This Mixed Reality application allows users to practise the art of cider pouring in a unique way. The application combines the Asturian tradition of cider pouring with technology, allowing users to perfect their technique without wasting a drop of the precious liquid.

In addition to perfecting their cider pouring skills, users had the opportunity to compete with each other to see who does it best, all while remaining aware of their real-world surroundings. This innovative approach to the traditional cider-pouring contest adds a modern, entertaining, and highly interactive twist, ensuring the tradition is kept alive in a new and engaging way.

This experience celebrates and promotes the cultural value of cider in Asturias, a beverage that has been exported to more than 50 countries and represents an integral part of Asturian identity.
